For more than a decade, Lalita e.V. has been working to bring the millennia-old Vedic knowledge closer to the people in the Western World and to open up real opportunities for Indian children
Who we are
We are a small organization of volunteers who made it their mission to help where our help is really needed. Therefore, we fly to India in person to see what the families need right now.
All the money you donate goes directly to the people who need it and helps them with their everyday struggles. Fortunately, even small donations make a big impact in India! For example, one girl needed an eye operation, but the family couldn't pay for it, so we did. For you this is a one-time donation, for the girl, it changes her whole life!
While the people in India need our help, they also have a lot they can offer us: knowledge, wisdom, culture and tradition.
This brings us to the two pillars of our organization: On one hand, we collect donations to open up real opportunities for Indian children, and on the other hand, we bring the millennia-old Vedic knowledge, the traditions and spirituality closer to the people in the Western World.
With understanding comes compassion
Different ways of thinking, unfamiliar traditions, foreign cultures and spirituality often seem strange and sometimes even threatening to people from other cultures.
The key to mutual understanding and tolerance lies in knowledge.
The only way to bring the people of this world together peacefully is to get to know each other personally, to understand each other's culture and to listen to each other.
Our goal is to advance this process and at the same time provide immediate support in India to lay small but significant foundations for a better future for the people in India.
With our exhibitions, lecture series, readings and cultural education events, we actively promote exchange and mutual understanding.
Our vision
Our vision is a peaceful world of happy people. We are aware that we cannot turn the entire world around overnight.
But with your support we can have a real local impact.
We can change the world
Together we can make a contribution to international understanding and to improving the situation in India.
Every child that receives a good education is the beginning of a new positive chain. Once they grow up they will have a better job and be able to send their children to school. Helping one child, helps generations to come!

Cheerful and lively children approach us and greet every European from the group with a little bow.
The orphanage for approximately 50 girls and boys is located in a small village not far from Vrindavan. The children live in small one-story houses in a very simple but peaceful village. Classes are mainly held outside in a sun-protected courtyard.
A few days before our visit we bought wool blankets, pillows and bedding which were urgently needed for the cool nights in India.
Additionally, we had commissioned a local carpenter to make tables and chairs for the school.
We were very happy to also give money to the caretakers to purchase school uniforms, everyday clothes, and books.
Throughout the year, the donations are mainly used for the repair and renovation of the buildings. This is especially needed for the monsoon season when it rains all day.
Lalita also support the caretakers and teachers and their families so that the next generations can get a good education.
